Melody Contreras is a Junior Undergraduate majoring in Theatre and Latina/Latino Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her scholarship focuses on Latinx absurdism in relation to the theatre world. She is a member of the Brown Theatre Collective where she co-directed Fornés's The Successful life of 3. She was the Assistant to the Director for Illinois Theatre’s workshop of Tocaya by Nancy Garcia Loza. You may have also recently seen her play the title role in Rivera's Marisol at The Station Theatre. She is a lovely Libra who enjoys the color indigo, making art, and learning.
